Understanding Your Costs

While Home Care Packages offer government subsidies, there may be some out-of-pocket costs depending on your circumstances. Here’s a breakdown of the potential fees:

  • Basic Daily Fee (optional): Assist Ability Australia charge a daily fee up to $12.53 to contribute towards the administrative costs of managing your package.
  • Income Tested Care Fee: An income assessment conducted by Services Australia might determine if you need to contribute further towards your care. This fee is not applicable to everyone, and there are annual and lifetime caps on how much you can contribute.
  • Additional Fees: You might choose to pay extra for services not covered by your base package funding. This could include specific therapies, personal care items, or specialized services. Always discuss these fees with your provider beforehand and ensure they are clearly outlined in your service agreement.
